Top 5 Movie Soundtracks - 90s Edition

January 15, 2016
Okay, first off, this isn’t the “Greatest Selling Albums Of All Time”, it’s our favorite movie soundtracks.  These are in no particular order.... but they ARE our favorites:

Clueless - feat. Salt-N-Pepa, No Doubt, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

If you would tell us that Clueless isn’t one of your favorite movies, we would not believe you.  This movie was an absolute staple of the 90s; it describes the stereotypes of the west coast suburbs.  So, since you like the movie, it’s impossible to not like the timeless soundtrack.  Come on, where else can you find Coolio AND Billie Holiday.

Empire Records - feat. The Gin Blossoms, AC/DC

Naturally, a movie about some kids wasting their lives away working at a record store would feature some great music.  The movie is a perfect place to listen to the wide variety that would be represented around the record store.

Dazed and Confused - feat. War, Foghat, Aerosmith

Probably our favorite soundtrack; mostly because it takes place in one of our favorite decades; the 70s.  Track after track after track makes you say to yourself, “damn thats a good song.”  This movie’s music supervisor should have gotten a huge bonus.  Also, the movie itself had greats like Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck.

The Waterboy - feat. The Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival

Sometimes, a perfect song will completely make the movie scene.  We think this comedy had so many of those moments, when a perfect song was chosen to absolutely bring another dimension to the movie.  Awesome selections.

Forrest Gump - feat. John Fogerty, Elvis, Jackson Browne

Another awesome, awesome movie.  The soundtrack itself takes you through a journey through America’s 1960’s history.  A great soundtrack to go with a great movie.
